New seizures, paralysis, pronounced speech or consciousness disturbances, or sudden severe neurological symptoms require urgent medical assessment.
Local treatment
Depending on number, size and location, surgery, stereotactic radiotherapy or other radiation concepts may be considered. Selection is individual.
Systemic treatment
For some tumour types, medicines are available that can also be effective in brain metastases. Biomarkers and previous treatment are important for selection.
Immunotherapy
For certain tumour types, approved immunotherapies can be part of the treatment concept. Whether this is appropriate in an individual case must be decided by the oncology team based on the overall findings.

For structured orientation, existing findings, histology, current imaging, previous treatments and – where available – molecular results can be brought together. This can help identify which questions should be clarified with the treating oncologist and which additional immuno-oncology information may be relevant.
